2023 Premier’s Reception

On Wednesday 22 November 2023, representatives from 35 high achieving schools from around South Australia came together at The Sanctuary, Adelaide Zoo, to be congratulated for their outstanding efforts in the 2023 Premier’s Reading Challenge. which marked its 20th year. Mem Fox and Phil Cummings,who were present, and Mark Bickley and Juliet Haslam, were also acknowledged and thanked for their remarkable 20-year service as PRC Ambassadors.

Attendees were treated to a stellar performance of Nadia Wheatley’s “My Place” by the talented drama students of Charles Campbell College, and entertaining speeches from the Premier, the Minister for Education and MC Bec Morse.

The 2024 posters were unveiled, and school representatives were presented with a certificate and bag of books for their school libraries.

Proceedings were followed by a delicious afternoon tea, a memorable time of gathering and meeting the Premier’s Reading Challenge Ambassadors and Premier and Minister and for those who had the time, entrance into the zoo to view the animals!

Well done to all the invited schools, and we look forward to hosting a new group in 2024!
