When a selective mute, Hector, meets an Afghani refugee in a candle making factory in Melbourne, he realises that something is not what it seems. The Afghani boy, Omed, had his tongue cut out by the taliban and is eventually found by the authorities and sent back. Years later Hector goes to Afghnistan to find him.
