2024 PRC STEM Competition Awards – Whitefriars Catholic School

The Premier’s Reading Challenge and partners teamed up again to challenge students to read about Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) in the lead up to National Science Week. The reading and design competition started in 2016 and this year 4,600 entries were received!

As has happened for the past few years, Whitefriars Catholic School has submitted great entries for the competition. Here are what some of the award winners have said…

“It was good to learn about how music can inspire people and use it to create a better world”.  Lorenzo

“My favourite part overall about the STEM poster was going through the process of writing and making the poster. This allowed me to explore the possibilities of poster designs and ideas, expanding my creativity. The poster was the best thing I have written and drew. I have received much feedback from teachers, parents and peers to help boost my chances of winning this award. This has improved my relationships with many people, even making new friends along the way. In conclusion, I am very happy and thrilled to win this award, thanks to everyone who helped me.” Lewis Cheing

“I enjoyed making my poster because I loved to draw pictures and make creations like the earth and the moon. I also loved making the border on the poster. I also enjoyed researching information. I liked it because I could know more about the moon and add it to my poster. The whole thing was super fun and I wish I could do it again!” Leo
