Mount Gambier Library

As well as visiting four schools, during a Premier’s Reading Challenge visit to Mount Gambier, Ambassador and award-winning author, Mem Fox presented for the Mount Gambier Library.

A free community evening for adults held at City Hall, this was an opportunity to learn more about Mem’s passion for reading and writing, as well as hear readings of her much-loved books. The audience were entertained and even participated in one section involving a repetition and clapping activity.

It was a wonderful way to spend an evening in Mount Gambier.

Thank you to the staff at the Mount Gambier Library for working with the PRC and supplying great hospitality.

From Erin Jones, Team Leader Children’s and Youth Services, Mount Gambier Library:
We feel absolutely honoured and blessed to have had Mem for last night’s event. She was mesmerising and hilarious and really has a warm and relatable way to get the message of joy and importance of reading across.
