Ambassador visit to Melaleuca Park Primary School

Melaleuca Park Primary School welcomed author, and Premier’s Reading Challenge Ambassador, Mem Fox on 9th May. Students were thrilled by her presentation as she inspired them to discover the joy of reading and imagination.

Reading some of her books including Possum Magic,  Where is the Green Sheep? and Meerkat Mayhem, Mem entertained students and staff with her energy and enthusiasm. She explained why she believes the Premier’s Reading Challenge is valuable and encouraged students to keep trying to find books they like to read to complete the Challenge this year.

What a lovely visit to end Mem’s trip to Mount Gambier. Staff and students were happy and, Mem was happy.

Library Assistant, Tara, said it had been her pleasure putting together a display to welcome Mem. She acknowledged that Mem’s visit would be talked about for days afterwards.
