Ambassador Visit to Cobdogla Primary School
13 June 2025
Friday 13th June was a lucky day for R-2 students at Cobdogla Primary School as they welcomed award winning author, and PRC Ambassador, Katrina Germein. Students were engaged as Katrina asked for their help with puppets when reading and singing her book One Little Duck. Other books shared included Bev and Kev, and Fabulous Frogs.
Katrina inspired students to continue writing their own stories and, of course, to continue reading lots and completing the Premier’s Reading Challenge.
Student quotes demonstrate how much they enjoyed having Katrina visit, and the impact she had on them:
“We got to put on a puppet show with Katrina with different animal puppets from her book, ‘One Little Duck’, I was the duck” – Emmy Year 1
“I really loved the puppets as they were very detailed and made noise. Katrina read us the book, and we sang parts of it” – Aria Year 1
“I loved the giraffe book, ‘Kev and Bev’. I learnt if you stand out you can always find others that stand out too” – Vera Year 2
“She wrote a story about a person but in the story the person was a giraffe. It was about being tall and her son was tall too” – Sophie S Year 1
“She opened her Fabulous Frog puppets mouth and inside were postcards for us all with pictures of some of her books!” – Sophie M Year 1
