Murray Bridge North School – Ambassador Visit – Mem Fox

The last school—but by no means the least—to be visited by Premier’s Reading Challenge Ambassador Mem Fox on her tour of the Riverland (Murraylands) was Murray Bridge North School.
Mem received a lovely, cosy welcome thanks to the setting, which was planned and organised by Drama teacher Codi—thank you. Students and staff enjoyed readings of several books, as well as excerpts from others that Mem had not planned to read but were requested by eager students. As always, a favourite was Where is the Green Sheep? which had everyone joining in.
Mem shared her Premier’s Reading Challenge medals and encouraged all students to keep trying to find books that they enjoy reading. She explained that she adores how the Challenge rewards children for reading—something she never had as a child. Medals were only ever awarded to sporty children.
After some wonderful questions from students, it was time to travel back to Adelaide.
