STEM competition winners – Westminster Preparatory School

The Premier’s Reading Challenge and partners teamed up again to challenge students to read about Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) in the lead up to National Science Week. As in recent years, over 3,000 STEM competition entries were received in 2025. From these, 12 students were selected as winners of their age group categories, as well as 32 runners-up.

Westminster Preparatory School, once again, submitted a large number of great entries for the competition. Here are what some of their award winners have said …

“I was very surprised and happy that I won the STEM competition. I really enjoyed my prize (a family pass to Science Alive!) to see all the science experiments. It was very cool and fun to see it all happen.”  –  Charlotte (3-5 Nature Winner)

“I was very surprised when I heard my name over the speaker, I did not think that I would be a runner-up, but I was.”  –  Abbie (3-5 Nature Runner-Up)

“I was really thrilled to be chosen as a winner in the PRC competition! The prizes were a fun bonus, but what really made it special was seeing my work recognised. It’s a great opportunity for students to feel proud of what they’ve achieved. I truly think that maybe these ideas COULD be used in real life. We are struggling with so many problems right now – Algae Bloom, the power of AI, animals going extinct and what better to do then use the imagination of children?”  –  Charlize (3-5 STEM Runner-Up)
