Ryan Kitto – AUFC

Fact File

The best thing about my job:
The best aspect about my job is that I’m in the fortunate position where I get to wake up everyday and do what I love. From a young age I dreamed of playing professional football and for me to be able to do it as my job is amazing.

The other thing I love most about this job is the people I meet and build relationships with. I love learning off, and becoming friends with, my teammates. With football being a global game, the opportunity to learn about different cultures is also on offer.

My favourite food:
My favourite food would have to be pasta. To choose a particular pasta dish is difficult as I love them all! This is something I love to eat before I play.

My dream car:
My dream car would have to be a Ford Mustang

My worst injury:
My worst injury that I have had in my short career would be breaking some of the hyaline cartilage off in my knee, which also required a lateral release. Unfortunately, this kept me out of the game for 6 months.

My favourite colours:
My favourite colour has to be red. My favourite sporting teams are all red: Manchester United, Essendon and of course Adelaide United!

My favourite movie:
My favourite movie is Law Abiding Citizen

My hero and why:
My sister has always played a big part in my life and someone that I aspire to be like. She was always setting the benchmark, whether it was for academics, sport or being an all round good person. She never does anything half hearted and always strives to do her best. She’s never ready to make an excuse as to why something couldn’t or didn’t happen.

My favourite possessions:
All my sporting equipment, from my boots and football to the backyard cricket set and golf clubs, would have to be my most prized possessions.

If I wasn’t doing my current job, I would like to be:
A PE teacher. I love working with kids and helping them learn fundamental skills, and building on these fundamental skills, to teach aspects of sport, such as game awareness and tactical understanding. I am currently studying to become a PE teacher and I hope to be a successful one after my sporting career.

The most important things in life:
Family and friends. These are the people that mean the most and are there with you through the good and bad times.

My Ambassador Reading Tip:
Find 30 minutes a day to sit, relax and read (I recommend before bed). Not only is it relaxing and enjoyable, and allows you take your mind elsewhere, but it is a fun and engaging way to learn important literacy skills that will assist you in everything that happens after school.
