Pigeon is born to the Banuba people and soon becomes a stockman for the boss at Lennard River. The cattle are taking over Banuba country and Pigeon gets caught up in the fight to save it. He is captured and begins to help the settlers but eventually his loyalty to his people means he becomes an outlaw and is given the name Jandamarra by the Banuba people.
