Home education process
Students do not need to register for the Challenge if they are not participating as part of a school entry.
Instead, please download and fill in a Student Reading Record for each child or young person participating in the Premier’s Reading Challenge (please note they are double sided, with the Challenge Guidelines on the back).
If your students would like a 20th Anniversary Certificate as well as their usual PRC award this year, please use the “20 Years, 20 Books” form instead of the usual 12-book form.
– Students in Reception to year 6 still need to read 8 books from the PRC booklist, and the remaining 12 are free choice.
– Years 7 to 9 still need to read 4 books from the PRC book list, and the remaining 16 are free choice.
– Years 10 to 12 are all free choice.
Read more about the 20th Anniversary guidelines here.
Once your students’ reading records are complete, please send them in to the PRC team by the end of September.
Please ensure the date of birth and previous school fields are filled in. This will help match students to any previous participation records and ensure they receive the correct award. This information is not used for any other purpose, and is not made public at any time.
The ‘previous school’ field relates to the last school at which the student completed the Challenge prior to the current year.
